Ellie is two weeks old today and this is mom's first posting on the blog! Looking at her this morning, I'm trying to remember life without her and it already seems like a distant memory. What joy she has already brought to our lives and how overwhelming it is to be blessed with this new life!
Ellie and I have had some great nursing breakthroughs in the past 24 hours! Yesterday we had a rough couple of hours with the frustration of latching on. (The whole nursing process has been very physically painful for me thus far) Finally, I was to the end of my rope and decided to check the internet to see if there were any tips on how to get your baby to latch on properly. It had to have been the Lord because I found this amazing website where this lady explained it from the perspective of eating a hamburger! :o) I decided to try the hamburger technique with Ellie and what a difference it has made! I wish I had this explanation of how it was supposed to work 2 weeks ago, but am so thankful to finally be able to help her latch on- we're both a lot more comfortable and happy now! (The addition of the boppy Meemaw gave has also been great!)
It has been quite the transition to stay at home with Ellie. Most days it feels like I am trying to get caught up on housework and thank you notes between feedings and that is about all I have time for in my day. But what a gift to have this time at home with Ellie. It has been so great to have daddy getting home semi-early in the afternoons because he goes into work so early.
These pictures are just some that I have taken in the past day of various cute Ellie poses. Enjoy! Wild blessings...

cute, cute, cute. Did I mention how cute she is? It is beautiful to hear of you two falling in love with her. How wonderful to be able to relate to every little thing mentioned so far. projectile vomit - been there...painful latch-been there....etc. Ah, enjoy the adventure. Pretty soon it will be the word "no" and potty training, and you won't believe how fast it goes.
