Hi friends and family. Andrea and I wanted to start this blog so you can keep tabs with us as our family grows daily in grace. As you may or may not know, we're now 3 instead of 2! Our daughter, Ellie Grace, was born Thursday morning at 8:40 am, weighing 8 lbs 8.9 oz. and measuring in at 20" long. She has dark hair like her daddy, but we're still unsure who she looks like more:o) Time will tell...
In our family, we love photos. They speak volumes of life without saying a word. So you might get more pictures than words, but then again, it's o.k. to be silent at times and watch life happen around you. The ultrasound picture is the first picture we ever got of little Ellie on December 8, 2005. The picture of Andrea holding Ellie and the bottle of Castor oil tells the tale of an anxious mother willing to try anything to get her baby out into the world! The b&w is of Andrea and Ellie in our recovery room during our day and a half stay at St. Mary's Hospital here in Grand Junction. One of our early favorites of our daughter is her just chillin', enjoying the comfort and love she has in this family!
And last there's Ellie's first story. Daddy read her The Tale of Three Trees on Friday evening on our first night home. It was simple and complete in the beauty of a dad and his little girl quietly, steadily stealing his heart one moment at a time. Daddy made it through with only a few tears of joy and thankfulness (if you've never read this children's story, we highly recommend it!)
We've had lots of visitors bearing flowers and food. Still we're excited to share our little girl with all of you in the coming weeks and months. Our house is always open, so please come visit if you're ever out in God's country!
With Love,
Graham, Andrea, and Ellie
