SunDay 4

Wow, four-day-old baby and parents! Can I say it's a blast? Yeah, the sleep loss is a reality, but not to the degree we expected--yet. Unfortunately, we're raising a little thief. She's gotten quite crafty at stealing our hearts...
Today we were visited by friends Bill and Kim Upson from our small group. Kim helped prep Andrea and I for the labor experience by being our coach! Ryan and Sally Fox, family friends from Montrose, also stopped in this evening to see the little one.
Cindy the Lactation Nurse came this afternoon and straightened Ellie out, who we've found is not only a good thief, but a great actress as well. She's been doing these flutter sucks apparently that give the appearance of feeding, but in reality, are nothing more than a jaw exercise. So she hasn't been eating nearly like she should, causing her weight to drop lower than normal and keeping Andrea from serving the milk like she
should.
So once Cindy left, we had much better feedings and much bigger diaper changes (WOAH!).
And on the picture note--I enjoy being in front of and behind the camera. But since Ellie is either sleeping, being burped by dad, or being breast fed by mom, there are fewer opportunities to get good shots of Ellie and mom. Be patient, they will come:o)
And a quick thank you to all who have been praying for us. We were talking about our labor and birth experience today, and God really had His gentle, powerful touch in the situation. We had a midwife and labor nurse who were both believers, and they made it an amazing experience we'll always treasure. And what a beautiful beginning to Ellie's story here on earth! So praise God for His faithfulness and for the power of prayer amongst His children. Grace and Peace...

Dude... I can't believe your guys' labor story! Holy cow... You should teach birthing seminars!

Praise God for how He continues to bless you both! (And thanks for the pics!)
